Brand IdentityStrategyDesignAnimation

The BBC’s centenary rebrand was its first major identity overhaul in over twenty years - and one of the most complex broadcast brand projects undertaken in the UK. Working with Wolff Olins and BBC Creative, I was Design Lead for BBC News, responsible for the rebrand both nationally and globally. The work centred on building a comprehensive motion and design system capable of unifying all BBC channels into a single coherent on air experience - while giving BBC News its own distinct identity within that framework. My role spanned concept through to delivery: developing the on screen graphics suite, extending the system to social platforms, and overseeing implementation and consistency across every touchpoint.

The result was a brand system built to work at the scale of the world’s most watched news organisation - flexible enough to serve dozens of programmes and platforms, disciplined enough to hold together as one.
